Velacompress runs entirely in your browser, built on the open-source components below. We thank their authors.
HEIC decoding: libheif and libde265
HEIC and HEIF images are decoded with libheif 1.23 and libde265, through the libheif-js 1.23.5 WebAssembly build. These libraries are licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0, which supplements the GNU General Public License v3.0.
We use them unmodified. They are delivered as a separate file, loaded only when you convert a HEIC image, and can be replaced by another build of the same interface. Their complete source code is available at the links above. For a copy of the exact source we use, write to hello@velacompress.app.
